Back home and settling in… Waipu

I can not believe I have been home in Waipu for over a month, the time has flown. What a fabulous time to be here in Northland New Zealand - it is balmy clear weather, the sea is warm and inviting, the beach is still mostly empty, there are waves to frolic in, the dog still swims and catches waves with me and Waipu is still one of the best little places in the world.

That said it is taking a while to settle into home again. People warned me that this would be the case – travelling the world for 4 months footloose and fancy free, I have come home to need to set up a new household – in a much smaller space than before. I need to get going to earn some money, and build an every day life again.

My world has shrunk again – in every way

- my world is now the small village of Waipu
- instead of welcoming guests into a large 6 bedroom guesthouse, I am in a small one room open plan studio
- building a life alone without my partner Ngaire who died over 2 years ago.

But small is beautiful too – and from small beginnings I plan to rebuild my life again with gratitude for what I have and an openness to live through this challenging time to embrace the future as it evolves.

Thanks to all of you who have followed my j0urney in the past months.

Waking to a view like this every day is not half bad!
