[...] For someone never considered to be a real traveler, this experience is quite amazing for me. Especially since I got here by way of Indonesia. Not only am I not a seasoned traveler, most of my traveling has been in my head, where I have been many places and done many things! However, towards the end of March 2008 I decided that I wanted a change in my life and I wanted to go somewhere far away and rather exotic! By the third week of May I was settled in a Guesthouse in the middle of Ubud, Bali. Bali was beautiful and I enjoyed each new sight sound smell and sensation offered me. More on my Bali Trip [...]

THE EDEN PROJECT HMM … I GUESS GNARIE WAS CLOSE TO YOU THERE .. 2YRS…
Hey Roseberry – now you’ve been to more places in England than me!!! Never been to the misty and mysterious Eden Project or Goonhilly Down – must try harder! Look forward to seeing you soon.
I would love a massage in Bali! What a funny story, thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Roseberry. Will have to defrag my Mac some time – and maybe defrag my life too! Things are hotting up for Christmas here in little ole Waipu. The street decorations are up and there are whispers as to who is taking part in the Christmas Parade. Perhaps Hildegarde will be there in her usual reindeer antlers – she’ll be looking forward to your return. Plans are well under way for the Celtic Music Festival but you will miss that too as you’ll be at camp. Oh well… see you at the Deli Cafe soon. Florida… how fantastic! Safe journey home!
Sue
Defragging is a good description of what we do every few weeks when we take a few days off travelling! We have just had 3 days in Istanbul , going for small jaunts but mostly resting after an intensive week of touring. It gave me time to write up my blog and organise the photos,to go to the nearest cafe a couple of times and revisit some favourite places, likethe Blue Mosque. It is sorting out and regathering the energy time.
I enjoyed reading your latest few blogs, while wespend a night in Munich before our Imperial Europe Tour. It is snowing outside. I am so excited as it looks like christmas will really be white. Much love C&D
Hi Rosemary it has been great reading with great interest your stories. I have been in Taiwan for six weeks and started work this Tuesday very hard I need to do some defragmenting!!! I am wondering when you will return to New Zealand I hope we could meet up sometime Jacquie

WE CAN DO IT WOMEN!
HI, this is my first time on this site, but I just love it. I love all the idea sharing..I can share a new product I was given recently which is awesome for travellers. It is a line of handcreme and perfume that is packaged to put in your purse or bag, and you do not have to worry about it spilling. It is called lifetherapy and it comes in three scents …vacation (which is my favorite) play and escape. There are matching pulse point oils (perfumes) that match. The cool thing about these are that the glass vials are packaged in a strudy, handcrafted paper tube that has the neatest decorations on them…since it is called lifetherapy, it is all these words and doodles symbolizing transient thoughts throughout a day…escape, work, live, love, play (with the word work crossed out) peace, etc…I wish you could see a picture. My friend bought it at this place outside of it has a website with the product on it. I think lifetherapy has a website too. I hope you get to enjoy this new product while on the road, it really is awesome.
Great post. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Rosemary. i like your blog for you see tharelling not only like seeing and making photos of yourself in diferent places but as a continuous process of self development. i love travelling though i have no possibility to do it quite often. nevetheless it makes my journeys even more amusing. thank you for taking time and sharing your stories.
Hi Rosemary – Welcome back, by the way.
I’m a little doubtful too. I guess I can see the purpose of mentioning the positive in a certain kind of travel article – one published in the clearly promotional travel section of a newspaper, say – and also if the writer is recognising that their experience of the place was brief essentially a ‘once over lightly’, which could render criticism or negatives unfair or out of proportion.
At times, when reviewing or talking about a book, I’ve taken the approach of focusing on the positive because a) I’m not an expert or b) it’s not my preferred genre but c) there will be fans out there for it. I guess the same could be true of relating travel experiences.
However, if readers are led (by the nature of a publication or its style) to expect a well-rounded, comprehensive, deep investigation of something (be it travel or a book), I think the writer owes it to them to provide just that, with positives and negatives. As readers we can surely be discerning enough to sense whether a negative experience may be personal to the writer or indicative of some wider malaise. However, if we have not been warned of ‘the negatives’ and go on to experience them ourselves, we perhaps have the right to feel aggrieved.

nice sunset pics…thanks for sharing!!!
Being a women and loving to travel myself i loved this site. I have to say I have been lucky when travelling as I have a fantastic lady at Flight Centre (Sarah) who knows what I like when I travel (a good deal!) and because she knows me she knows that I’d rather pay a bit more and stay in a safe part of town than do everythink on the cheap cheap and end up in perhaps a part of town that as a single women I wouldn’t feel that safe in. If you don’t have someone like my Flight Centre Sarah then this site looks like it might be the next best thing!

Hi,
I have not seen before like this new website, which belongs to only Women travel in the world as a way of connecting women travellers with women run tourism ventures around the world.
Hi Friend,
Now a days Women are the third powerfull group in this world. Today women are literate, scientist, Doctors, and Pilot and take more powerfull position in our social. They are self confident to live without any help of others. In every kind of work, women are progress rapidly among men. So I think this site will create a positive mind on every women’s mind.
Great…
Yes the rules for women in Asian countries are very strict. and not only in asian by the way))) so reading a couple of ideas how to behaive not to get into trouble looks quite reasonable.
Hmmmm… interesting. never heard of such a tour before. thank you

Hi there,
I’ve just been browsing your blog and I wanted to say that it’s really great. It’s nice to see a refreshing perspective on travelling for women. I thought you might like this fun little quiz http://www.tripbase.com/quiz/whichadventurer. It lets you know what famous adventurer you are most like. It’d be great if you could take a look and maybe post the badge on your blog if you like it.
Thanks,
Anna
Nice article.. France is like the birthplace of many great artists..

Hi there,
I have this really exciting tool to help you calculate the impact of your travelling on the environment, and I thought it might fit in well with your interests. Though we love to travel, carbon emissions are an issue that is starting to worry a lot of us. The Flight CO2 Calculator will hopefully encourage us all to be more socially responsible by perhaps considering greener travel options.
If you are interested, take a look at http://www.tripbase.com/flight-Co2-calculator. It would be great if you could post the calculator on your blog. I really think it would add value to your site as a whole by sparking awareness, interest and debate from your followers. I hope you like it!
Many thanks ,
Anna
There are some women that have been doing Istanbul tours for a few years now, their website is http://www.womenontour.co.uk and I knew about them when I decided to go to Istanbul by myself a couple of years ago. They work with local guides too and I had a great time, the support woman was great and we did lots of activities that weren’t actually planned, mixing with the locals, we even joined a boat party at the last minute, I strongly recommend them. The group was small, just 6 of us and I’m still in touch with two of the women from the group, it was a fantastic bonding experience.
I will be sure to look you up when I come to Turkey. How wonderful that you have done this on your own. You should be proud. Your sisters all over the world are here for you!
Drenched into royal grandeur the Indian state of Rajasthan is one of the most charming and captivating states of the country. The state has numerous catchy attractions to offer its visitors. Cities of Rajasthan are very popular among tourists from all over the world. There are several historic cities in the state having several heritage attractions like forts, temples, palaces, havelis, etc. Almost all the cities of Rajasthan were once the princely states in themselves. Thus there are several magnificent forts, elegant palaces, terrific temples, lovely lakes and gorgeous gardens in the cities. All these depict the royal and glorious past of the cities and the state. Almost all the famous cities of the state are well connected with the excellent road transportation network. So traveling in the state is worth enjoying.
Maybe a typo in your text, but Pisa’s luminara lasts for just one night, June 16th, and not for an entire month as you’ve indicated.
hey everyone – I’m old but not infirm -want to go on the cheap from Paris to Rome and then on to Basilicata , mean to take the train, and stay on the adriatic for a few weeks. Will drop down into Italy with the cheapest flight i find and generally speaking my money is small but my imagination and determination are big. Need all the advise I can come by of how to stretch my money, housing, markets all food and sundry, anything perfectly beautiful, lovliness, joy, delight and etc. I especially want to bisit the cave cities at Mattera, and “Pulia”,back and forth along the coast and up into the hill towns. Tell me what you know that I need to know. Please …..Geraldine
For me one of countries with more tourist attractions is Peru, this year I came to this country and knew all the center and south. Destinations I liked the most were Cusco, Arequipa, Ayacucho and Puno, where I met amazing places such as Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca. I recommend them to everyone. Also, I advise you to hire a travel agency. I did it with TurPeru and was very good, they arranged all my tours and I got discounts for the reservation online. Its website is http://www.turperu.com.pe
San Francisco has always been an amazing adventure for me as both a former resident & visitor. From fresh baked Paisano Bread, Joes Special, freshly pulled Bay Crab, and chocolate at Ghirardelli Square. The sights and sounds of trolleys running up & down the streets, historic sights, working water fronts & wharfs. Oooohhhh……..time for me to put San Fran on my itinerary.
Hi geraldine, There are some great hotel trains which I think are good value – considering they include accommodation, as well as the journey, I love travelling by train – slow travel – like slow food. on Women Travel the world – http:// http://www.womentravel.info there are some great places to stay – the one I loved most was Florence Women’s B&B. Also Rosanna of Eliotropica Tours in Italy could offer some great ideas I am sure to help you on the way.

I think Choral Festival is an unmissable opportunity to celebrate, perform. choir members represent a range of musical experience – some of us have never sung with a choir before, while others are seasoned performers. Thanks for your nice information about Out and Loud Choral Festival.
A New Zealand friend found these folk very helpful in travelling solo and looking for a travel companion
