Fez – a B&B in the Medina

Our guide Ahmet explains that most doorways are nothing special – you do not draw attention to yourself. But behind the occasional open door can be exquisitely tiled and enticing stairways.
He is leading us down another small pathway in the Medina when a doorway opens, words are exchanged and we are invited inside.
Au 20 Jasmins is amazing – a beautifully restored classic Riad now functioning as a Bed and Breakfast. For about $300NZ (by my calculations) you can stay here in the centre of the bustling ancient medina. The only two problems I can see is getting lost in the maze of streets, and getting your bags to the house – I am sure this is something they have sorted, they seemed to have thought of everything else.
